As you know, Pasty.NET provides protection against viruses which attempt to invade your computer through email. However, a new type of "worm" is being distributed to windows machines through the same mechanism which provides automatic updates. Read more about it at the Symantec website.
Here are the instructions for removing the virus:
1) Download and run a security patch from Microsoft. Click Here for the file. Save it or run it immediately.
2) Turn off (disable) "System Restore" by right-clicking the icon labeled "My Computer" on your desktop, choose Properties, then on the "System Restore" tab check the box to "Turn off System Restore".
3) Download and run the fix program from Symantec. Click Here for the file. Save it or run it immediately.
4) When the program is finished it will give you a summary of the results.
